Fabu
Carter Mogaka, a gifted
writer, is a graduate of the U.W. Madison with Master's degree in African
Languages and Literature, and in Afro-American Studies. She served the
Madison community as both an educator and as a literary artist.
She is passionate about the ability of
each child to learn, and has designed innovative curriculum to strengthen
the learning abilities of African American children. As a literary artist,
she creates and shares enchanting original, unique stories and poetry,
most often the perspective of women, children and African Americans.
Fabu is multicultural in perspective
and encourages writing in many languages. This combination of a creative
and literary background makes her an exceptional poet or storyteller
in residence. She is wildly creative, drawing the best out of students
included special needs students and the gifted and talented. She has
a model for discipline that allows her to engage and draw wonderful
work from people.
Fabu Carter Mogaka serves on a number
of boards, Madison Juneteenth Celebrations, Dane County Cultural Arts,
and the most recent, the Madison Center for Creative and Cultural Arts.
She is currently a private consultant in African American culture and
serves as a valuable resource to organizations wanting to connect with
communities of color for artistic and educational purposes. She enjoys
negotiating and bartering for her services.
